About the Internet Outages Map
The Internet Outages Map is an at-a-glance visualization of global Internet health over the last 24 hours, tracking Internet outages across ISPs, top application providers, public clouds, and edge service networks.
This map automatically updates outage information every 5 minutes and shows ongoing and recently detected outages.
You can use this map to quickly understand if there are ongoing outages. This is powered by Internet Insights, which offers a more comprehensive understanding of how outages are impacting your specific networks and dependencies.
To grasp the impact of outages on your networks over time, Internet Insights provides detailed, tailored analysis for continuous optimization.
The Internet Outages Map harnesses ThousandEyes’ global platform to detect and display outages in ISPs, public cloud services, and edge service networks like CDNs, DNS, and SECaaS.
The Internet Outages Map surfaces outage events across 124 of the top SaaS applications as well as major consumer applications based on telemetry collected from thousands of global vantage points connecting to these applications.
Network outages and application outages are algorithmically detected based on billions of measurements to hundreds of apps and services crossing thousands of Internet Service Providers each day. Network outages are events with 100% packet loss in the same AS during a period of time, and where there is a certain level of impact on the infrastructure, sensors and services. Application outages are events during which multiple global vantage points are unable to reach or receive an error message from an application's servers.
When terminal nodes are identified in provider networks, or when application servers fail to respond as expected, their locations are visualized on the global map above in near real time, so you can always have an at-a-glance understanding of outages in the regions you care about.
