Cloud Service

What is a Cloud Service?

A Cloud service is any service made available to users on demand via the Internet from a cloud computing provider's infrastructure as opposed to being provided from a company's own on-premises servers. Cloud services are designed to provide rapid, easy, scalable, shared, on-demand access to applications, resources and services with minimal interaction required from the service provider.

A cloud service can dynamically scale to meet the needs of its users, with service providers supplying the hardware and software necessary for the service, there's no need for a company to provision or deploy its own resources or allocate IT staff to manage the service.

Cloud services that a service provider commercially offers to customers through the Internet are referred to as public cloud services. Private cloud services run on an organization's own infrastructure and are dedicated to multiple internal users, rather than multiple, external customers.
