Thousandeyes Mobile Endpoint Agent for ChromeOS™

We are excited to announce general availability of the ThousandEyes Mobile Endpoint Agent for ChromeOS, extending visibility to Chromebook devices, which are popular in education, financial services, enterprise, and other environments.

Overview

We are excited to announce general availability of the ThousandEyes Mobile Endpoint Agent for ChromeOS, extending visibility to Chromebook devices, which are popular in education, financial services, enterprise, and other environments. Chromebooks are supported starting from Mobile Endpoint Agent version 1.7.1, available on Google Play.

This expansion of ThousandEyes Endpoint Experience allows organizations to gain end-to-end visibility into the ChromeOS user experience, ensuring that SaaS applications and Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) environments remain performant and reliable. The ThousandEyes Mobile Endpoint Agent for ChromeOS extends the same Endpoint Experience visibility for Android™ devices to Chromebook fleets, so teams can gain real-time visibility into user experience across the network and the SaaS applications their workforce depends on.

Feature Highlights

  • Scheduled Background Testing: Automatically run ICMP, TCP, and HTTP tests in the background to monitor connectivity and application response times without user intervention.

  • Complete Path Visualization: Gain a hop-by-hop view of the network path from the Chromebook to the application or service, identifying exactly where latency or packet loss is occurring.

  • Device Health & Experience Score: Monitor essential device metrics alongside network performance to determine if a productivity dip is caused by the local hardware or the external network.

  • Enterprise-Scale Deployment: Deploy the agent across thousands of devices using standard enterprise management tools like the Google Admin Console.

  • Unified Dashboarding: View ChromeOS performance data alongside your existing endpoint fleet in ThousandEyes, providing a single pane of glass for your entire distributed workforce.

  • MCP Server & AI Assistant: The ThousandEyes MCP Server allows administrators to connect an AI assistant directly to the ThousandEyes platform, enabling administrators to use natural language to access and analyze wireless and mobile telemetry data. The AI Assistant correlates wireless, mobile, gateway, application, and endpoint telemetry to pinpoint whether performance issues stem from Wi-Fi, cellular signal, network path, or service degradation. This can help give teams faster, more intuitive visibility into device, application, and connectivity health across their mobile fleet.

Customer Benefits

  • Rapid Troubleshooting: Rapidly identify whether a performance issue stems from the user's device, their local Wi-Fi, the ISP, mobile service or application provider.

  • Optimized Remote Work: Help ensure that contact center agents and remote employees have secure, high-quality access to the SaaS tools they need to stay productive.

  • Deployment Scalability: Support large-scale deployments with automated deployment and centralized management, minimizing the overhead for IT departments.

  • VDI Replacement Confidence: As Chromebooks replace traditional VDI endpoints, ThousandEyes helps to provide the necessary visibility to confirm these cost-effective alternatives meet performance SLAs.
