Meraki Cross-domain Assurance

ThousandEyes introduced a new data integration with Meraki, allowing deeper visibility across the enterprise, the Internet, and applications.

Innovation Overview

The ThousandEyes and Meraki integration provides a comprehensive view of the end-to-end service delivery chain through bi-directional data integration, so IT teams can pinpoint issues at their source, whether internal or external.

Feature Highlights:

  • Meraki MX Visibility in ThousandEyes: Integrate Meraki device metrics like health scores and client counts with ThousandEyes path visualizations for precise diagnostics.

  • Internet and App Health in Meraki Assurance: Embedded ThousandEyes network and application health data in Meraki’s Assurance Overview aids IT in quickly identifying whether issues are internal or external, boosting confidence in change implementations.

  • Deep Linking Across Products: Customers can easily cross-link with the proper context between the two products, making it easier for operations teams to troubleshoot problems.

  • Keep the MX and ThousandEyes Integration Fresh: This integration will automatically reference the latest network name attached to this MX, ensuring users don't have to update network names manually as part of the integration.

Customer Benefits:

  • Visibility From Internal to External: Aggregate data from internal networks, ISPs, and SaaS applications into a single, actionable view, allowing users to identify which network the issue originates from.

  • Isolate Network and Application Issues: IT teams can quickly pinpoint whether the problems are in the network or application layers, simplifying the troubleshooting process.

  • Streamlined IT Operations: One-click cross-launch between ThousandEyes and Meraki offers immediate, correlated insights across both platforms, saving time.

Here is a quick demo of how to set up the Meraki integration:

  1. Open Integration 2.0 under the Integrations menu.

  2. Add “New Connector” with the Meraki org target and your API key.

  3. Create a new Operation and assign it to the previous Connector.

  4. Once the status changes to Connected, confirm Meraki data.

  5. Meraki Agent is highlighted in Path Visualization.

  6. Use the WAN Appliance Score and the Connected Clients count to assess MX health.

  7. Jump to Meraki Assurance View from the cross-link.

  8. When the WAN Appliance Score is low, check the device utilization.

  9. See each application’s health score for an overview of the local network health.

  10. Leverage network and application metrics and alerts for troubleshooting.
