On August 12th, 2016 ThousandEyes dazzled the delegation of independent thought leaders at Networking Field Day 12 in Santa Clara, California. ThousandEyes was one of the nine companies presenting at the three day event to the likes of Ethan Banks of Packet Pushers, Justin Cohen and Brandon Mangold. Check out the delegates’ reaction to ThousandEyes and NFD12.
Mohit Lad, our CEO and Co-Founder, kickstarted the two-hour session. Addressing the problems faced by today’s Internet-centric enterprise, he discussed how our Cloud, Enterprise and Endpoint Agents can help bridge the gap. Echoing the vision of ThousandEyes, he emphasized the power of data and the concept of collective network intelligence in solving complex problems.
In the second installment of the talk, Nick Kephart dives into the various deployment models of the Enterprise Agents, which include the Intel NUC and integration with Cisco IOS XE routers. He also touches upon the nuances of asymmetric routing in the Internet and how ThousandEyes can provide visibility into both forward and reverse network paths.
ThousandEyes Endpoint Agent
The majority of the session at NFD12 was focused on our newest product, ThousandEyes Endpoint Agent. Scott Cressman, our director of product management at ThousandEyes, talks about our rationale behind building the Endpoint Agent and explains how the client-based browser extension helps monitor end user experience.
Following Scott’s presentation, Martin Dam dives deeper into the intricate technical details behind installing the Endpoint Agent and data collection. Watch how we detect a routing loop in the hotel’s Wi-Fi connection using Endpoint Agent!
Watch a live demo of Endpoint Agent monitoring a remote user by gathering real end user data.
Internet Outage Detection
Last but not least, Ricardo Oliveira, our CTO and Co-Founder, brings it home with yet another ThousandEyes innovation, Internet Outage Detection. By harnessing data from our entire user base, Internet Outage Detection employs complex algorithms to infer and diagnose ISP outages. Watch Ricardo discuss how it works and what we have planned for the future.
